The temple is solely dedicated to Lord Subramanya also referred to as Lord Karthik, that is the son of Lord Shiva. you will note that the temple is surrounded by beautiful gardens and forests which make it completely picturesque. The seventeenth century Chowta Palace is also truly worth visiting for its wonderfully carved wood pillars & ceilings.
